Amy is a physical therapist who joined our EmergeOrtho Triad Region team in 2011. She has over 20 years of experience evaluating and treating patients in an orthopedic setting. Amy became credentialed by the McKenzie Institute in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) in 2010. She predominately treats patients with neck and/or low back issues, but also treats those with shoulder, hip, and knee injuries and conditions.
In addition, Amy is also trained in Vestibular Rehabilitation to help patients suffering from positional vertigo. Most recently, she has broadened her knowledge by receiving additional training in evaluating and treating patients with post-concussion syndrome, including sports-related concussion. She works closely with Dr. Adam Kendall, who directs the Sport-Related Concussion Program in the Triad Region.
Patient education is a very important part of Amy’s practice. Patient education allows for the best possible outcomes as well as prevention of future injury and/or re-occurrence. Amy enjoys encouraging patients to be pro-active about their health, thereby empowering them to live life to the fullest.
