Jessica joined our team in 2005 with clinical responsibilities as both an athletic trainer (AT) and a licensed massage therapist. She has over 18 years of experience as an AT, working both in Division I collegiate athletics and outpatient clinical settings. As an AT, Jessica specializes in the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries & illnesses that occur to athletes and the physically active.
A few years after joining our team, Jessica accepted the role as the practice’s sports medicine coordinator. Her responsibilities involve overseeing the sport medicine programs at several schools in Guilford County, directing sports medicine services for local Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Championships as well as other Division I collegiate conference & NCAA championships, and planning sports medicine services for numerous community outreach events. The mission of the Sports Medicine Outreach Program is to provide quality services including prevention, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions under the direction of the physicians of EmergeOrtho Triad Region. Jessica strives to maintain and build positive relationships throughout the community and EmergeOrtho.
Despite her love of the athletic training and massage therapy professions, Jessica felt restricted by her career choice in that she could only work to improve the health & well-being of a specific population. For this reason, she decided to return to graduate school and earned a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) degree making a transition into healthcare administration. In 2012, Jessica accepted the role as the Marketing Manager. Her responsibilities consist of all facets of marketing to include, operation management, community involvement, practice branding & recognition, website content development, social media presence & engagement, and sports medicine services.
Jessica continues to maintain her clinical skills by actively providing sports medicine services along with the Sports Medicine Outreach providers at EmergeOrtho. She has special clinical interests in concussion management, shoulder pathology & treatment, as well as advanced taping techniques. Jessica also has a special interest in operation management and business development.
